![]() ![]() ![]() It was the first one to feature a decent voice cast, and you really don't need to have played the other 3 to play this one at all, it's story was able to (mostly) stand on it's own. It honestly had my favorite storyline of any of the games in the series as well. It still has mostly the same Resident Evil puzzles such as finding cranks and whatnot, and it still had its share of scary moments (the first playthrough anyway). ![]() It is totally different from the first 3 in that it is an over the shoulder shooter, but it is fantastic over the shoulder shooter at that. 2 is my personal favorite of the original 3.Ĥ is my all-time favorite Resident Evil. Rather than remake them for GC, they simply ported them, so it really makes no difference which system you play these on. The only other reason I could give to play the Ps1 version is if you don't want to blow a lot of money, since it's only 5 bucks on psn.Ģ and 3 are both improvements from the first one in my opinion, but the voice acting still sucks squares. They still give me nightmares, but not in a good way. Then there's those live action cutscenes. I recently re-played it with a friend and we honestly did not remember it sounding that bad. The only way I'd recommend the Ps1 version is if you can tolerate it's god-awful voice acting. ![]() If you want to start the story from the beginning, I'd recommend these. They also made Resident Evil 0 for GC and Wii, and it's story runs parallel to the first game's. Just my opinion though.Īs for Resident Evil, I would say the GC remake of Resident Evil is the best way to experience the first game (they also released that remake on Wii, which I think is a bit easier to find). I honestly prefer Silent Hill, I think it's much scarier and I enjoy the story way more. ![]()
